The Northern Christian Religious Leaders Assembly (NOCRELA) has congratulated General Christopher Gwobin Musa (Rtd.) on his appointment as Nigeria’s Minister of Defence, describing the development as timely and well-deserved.
In a statement issued on Thursday and signed by its Secretary-General, Rev. Dr. Simon A.S. Dolly, the group said Musa’s elevation reflects the trust and confidence reposed in him by President Bola Tinubu and millions of Nigerians, given his exceptional military record and unwavering commitment to national security.

The body expressed optimism that Gen. Musa’s tenure would usher in a new era of strengthened security architecture, modernised defence capabilities, and better coordination among security agencies.
The group commended the former Chief of Defence Staff for his disciplined command, dedication to the protection of Nigeria’s territorial integrity, and his exemplary service across various leadership positions in the Armed Forces.
“As you take on this historic and noble responsibility, we pray that God grants you divine wisdom, strength, and protection,” the statement read.
