Popular Arise News anchor, Rufai Oseni didn’t hold back on Monday morning as he tore into the just-concluded APC Presidential Primary where President Bola Tinubu was declared winner with a whopping 10.9 million votes.
In a fiery segment on the Morning Show, Rufai described the entire exercise as nothing more than a “skit” and a carefully staged drama. He challenged the narrative being pushed by the ruling Party, arguing that claiming such massive numbers in an internal primary sets a dangerous precedent.
“Do you think this APC just concluded Primary is actually an election? It’s a skit,” Rufai said. “I want to challenge this narrative here. This just concluded APC Primary election should never be a pretext for what’s going to happen in the 2027 election. Because if they are now saying President Tinubu can get 11 million votes in a Primary, that means he can’t get anything less than that during the main election. That’s a bad narrative and a pretext for rigging.”

The outspoken journalist’s comments come after the APC Primary results sparked widespread mockery and disbelief online, with many Nigerians comparing the figures to Tinubu’s actual performance in the 2023 General Election. The segment also featured clips of other political figures, including former Abia State Governor, Orji Uzor Kalu, amid discussions on alleged irregularities in vote counting.
