Youth Right Campaign Demands Trial, Recall Of Lawmaker Ikwechegh For Assaulting Bolt Driver In Abuja

Human rights advocacy group, the Youth Rights Campaign (YRC), has demanded immediate arrest and prosecution of the House of Representatives member, Alex Mascot Ikwechegh, for brutally assaulting a Bolt driver in Abuja.

The group, in a reaction to the report of how Ikwechegh assaulted the Bolt driver and threatened to “make him disappear from Nigeria” described the Lawmaker as a disgrace.

The YRC, which made the call through its National Secretary, Francis Nwapa, also called for a recall of the lawmaker by his Aba North and South Federal Constituency of Abia State.

Nwapa in a post on X said, “@Alex Ikewechegh Mascot the Abia House of Rep. Member who slapped, arrested a bolt driver for no reason.

“These oppressors at all levels across tribe, religion & gender must be tamed. We demand his arrest, prosecution & recall by constituency. He’s a disgrace & not a resemblance of.”
