The House of Representatives has called for the amendment the Federal Medical Centre Act and established federal medical in Orile Lagos State to promote adequate medical and health facilities in the region.
Leading the debate, house member representing surulere federal constituency, Hon. Lanre Okunlola argued that Orile faces a critical health deficit due to inadequate primary and secondary health facilities.
He added that the region continues to face a critical shortage of accessible, high-quality healthcare due to its booming population and diverse demographics.
He emphasized that the proposed FMC in Orile would act would act as a critical lifeline and alleviate the immense pressure on existing facilities and significantly improve the overall healthcare ecosystem across the region.
