Zenith Bank Plc. has once again been recognized for its outstanding performance. The Bank was named “Best Bank in Nigeria” at the 2025 edition of the Global Finance Best Banks Awards.
This is the fifth time in six years the bank has won this prestigious award.
The Global Finance awards honor top banks from 36 African countries. Winners were selected for showing strong performance in difficult markets, caring for their customers, and preparing well for future success. These banks also managed their financial resources wisely despite constant changes in interest rates.
The selection process involved consultations with experts in finance and banking from around the world. The criteria included both measurable factors like asset growth, profits, expansion, and innovation, as well as expert opinions from industry professionals such as analysts and consultants.

The Global Finance Best Bank Awards are highly respected in the banking industry. Banks from more than 150 countries and territories are reviewed, making this award one of the most sought-after in the financial world.
Zenith Bank has consistently received major awards for its excellent performance. Some of these include being named the Number One Bank in Nigeria by Tier-1 Capital for 15 years in a row. It also won Bank of the Year (Nigeria) in 2020, 2022, and 2024, and was honored multiple times for digital banking innovation.
Other recognitions include being listed among the Top 100 Global Companies, winning Best Commercial Bank in Nigeria for four years straight, and being named Most Sustainable Bank in Nigeria. The bank was also praised for having the best corporate governance in several different awards from 2020 to 2024.
In addition, Zenith Bank has been awarded titles like Most Valuable Banking Brand in Nigeria, Retail Bank of the Year, and Best in MSME Trade Finance. It also received praise for gender equality, transparency, and corporate social responsibility at major African award events.
