President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Super Falcons of Nigeria for their impressive victory at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), where they claimed a record-extending 10th Title.
The Nigerian women’s national team came from behind to defeat hosts Morocco in a thrilling final played on Saturday night in Rabat, defying the odds and silencing a passionate home crowd.
Reacting to the win, President Tinubu praised the Falcons’ fighting spirit, calling it a true reflection of the resilience and determination that defines Nigerians.
“The Super Falcons’ spectacular performance tonight in Rabat, coming from behind to beat a spirited Moroccan side playing in front of a passionate home crowd, exemplifies the determination that defines the Nigerian spirit,” Tinubu said in a statement released by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
