Presidency Mocks Obi’s Love For Biggest ‘Piece Of Meat’

Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, has stirred fresh political debate following a strongly worded post on X in which he criticized Peter Obi over his leadership style in which he accused the former presidential candidate of seeking the biggest meat despite never partaking in cooking.

Obi’s supporters, however, fired back with one of them saying “your principal took the whole pot, stove, kitchen, and house.”

In the post, Onanuga accused Obi of prioritizing personal advantage in political arrangements, while questioning his ability to build party structures.

“The scales have now fallen from the eyes of Babachir Lawal, a 2023 supporter of Peter Obi,” he wrote. “He now realizes that Obi, who dreads primaries, desires a consensus that benefits him alone—a philosophy seemingly ingrained in his DNA.”

He further described Obi as a politician driven by self-interest, adding that he “goes to where other people have toiled to cook the soup and takes the biggest meat in the pot,” and cannot effectively build a political party. He concluded by calling him a “Gbajue politician of this era.”

The remarks have since triggered widespread reactions online, with supporters and critics of both sides weighing in.

@DigitalCollins6 wrote, “Sir, Arsenal FC have reached the Champions League final… why are you not seizing this moment for some much-needed rest?”

@chief_billions said, “At your age and level as a top government appointee, just look at what you are tweeting! Nigeria has never had it this low.”

Dr. Chiekezi Opara (@Princetatucash) responded by questioning the ruling party’s internal processes, saying, “What about ‘Emilokon’? What about a Party denying members the opportunity to pick forms?”

@fa4our added sarcastically, “Onanuga says Obi takes the biggest meat in the pot… your principal took the whole pot, stove, kitchen, and house.”

@ApoesoBabatope urged Onanuga to shift focus, writing, “If Obi leaves Party and enters water, we will follow him. Focus on insecurity problems instead.”

Supporters of Obi defended him strongly. @Aminujj stated, “He is FOCUSED… Peter Obi is a MOVEMENT.”

@CUgwuede80253 wrote, “PO is not your mate. Focus on your bootlicking job.”

@Eustaceezenna accused the Presidency of distraction politics, saying, “Having ample time to discuss Peter Obi shows how idle you people are in Aso Rock.”

@BigChaez also reacted humorously, “That man must really be living rent-free in your head sir 😂.”

@Ogechex, however, took a broader view, warning, “It is ‘Justice Crack’ today, it could be ‘Injustice Whole’ tomorrow… let’s all lend our voices.”

As the exchange continues to trend, the controversy highlights the deep political divide around Peter Obi’s influence and the increasingly heated nature of political commentary on social media ahead of future elections.
