Nigerians React As President Visits Street Sweepers At 5 a.m. (Video)

Burkina Faso’s President, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, has earned widespread praise after a video surfaced online showing him paying a surprise visit to street sweepers in the early hours of the morning.

The viral clip, which has sparked conversation across West Africa, showed the 36-year-old president dressed in a military khaki uniform, with a pistol tucked in his pocket, walking through the streets at about 5am to personally greet and appreciate the street sweepers for their service to the nation.

President Traoré’s unannounced visit was intended to motivate and commend the street sweepers for their dedication to keeping the capital city clean, a gesture that many online described as “humble” and “exemplary leadership.”

The video quickly gained traction on social media, especially among Nigerian users who flooded the comment section with reactions. Many Nigerians expressed both admiration and envy, noting that such humility and leadership-by-example is rare in their own political system.
