The National Association of Nigerian Students in Diaspora (NANS-Diaspora) has officially inaugurated a new National Executive Council to steer the affairs of the association and advance the interests of Nigerian students studying across the world.
The inauguration ceremony, held on 28 June 2026, marked the formal transition of leadership following the successful completion of the tenure of the immediate past administration led by Dr. Juwon Ojo Fayomi, whose leadership was widely recognised for strengthening diaspora student engagement, promoting the welfare of Nigerian students abroad, and fostering productive relationships with Nigerian diplomatic missions and key stakeholders.
The newly inaugurated National Executive Council is composed of:

Vice President: Ojo Tina
General Secretary: Gbemileke Kolawole Tabiti
Assistant General Secretary: Goodnews Agare
Treasurer: Aliyu Sani Adamu
Public Relations Officer: Saleh Zakariya Usman
Speaking after the inauguration, the new President, Engr. Nuhu Aminu Nuhu, expressed appreciation for the confidence reposed in the new leadership and reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to advancing the vision and objectives of the Association. He noted that the new Executive Council would prioritise unity, effective representation, student welfare, strategic partnerships, and constructive engagement with Nigerian institutions and stakeholders both at home and abroad.
The new administration pledged to build upon the solid foundation laid by the immediate past leadership, while introducing innovative initiatives that respond to the evolving needs and aspirations of Nigerian students and young professionals in the diaspora.
During his handover remarks, Dr. Juwon Ojo Fayomi congratulated the newly inaugurated officers and encouraged them to lead with integrity, accountability, inclusiveness, and a spirit of service. He emphasised that sustainable leadership is built on continuity, collaboration, and a shared commitment to improving the experiences of Nigerian students across different countries.
Dr. Fayomi also expressed confidence in the capacity of the new Executive Council to consolidate the Association’s achievements and expand its impact through stronger engagement with Nigerian diplomatic missions, educational institutions, government agencies, and international partners.
The National Association of Nigerian Students in Diaspora has continued to serve as a unifying platform for Nigerian students studying abroad by promoting academic excellence, cultural exchange, leadership development, welfare advocacy, and constructive engagement with the Government of Nigeria and other relevant stakeholders.
As the new administration assumes office, members of the Association have expressed optimism that the incoming leadership will further strengthen the organisation’s visibility, deepen collaboration among Nigerian student communities worldwide, and champion initiatives that contribute to the educational, professional, and national development aspirations of Nigerians in the diaspora.
