Nigerian singer Chike has finally reacted to the growing controversy surrounding allegations linking him to Sandra Edoho, the former wife of media personality Frank Edoho.
The music star, who has faced heavy criticism online in recent days, shared a short emotional message on X that immediately drew fresh reactions from social media users.
“Pity my soul!” he wrote.
His post came amid widespread discussions triggered by alleged leaked audio recordings circulating online. In one of the recordings, Sandra was said to have opened up about problems in her marriage and reportedly claimed that Frank Edoho suspected she was involved with Chike.
The situation became even more intense after Sandra publicly accused her former husband of infidelity and emotional mistreatment during their marriage. Through several social media posts, she alleged that their relationship had been troubled for a long time before the separation eventually happened.
Another leaked voice recording also surfaced online, allegedly featuring Frank Edoho expressing anger over the rumours and narrating how he confronted Chike regarding the matter.
As the controversy continued trending online, Nigerians flooded social media with mixed reactions, with some defending the singer while others heavily criticized him.
Reacting to the issue, a user identified as @spaceey_og blamed Sandra more than the singer, writing, “Stop blaming Chike, at the end of it all Chike is a Man, what about the useless woman who has just disgraced womanhood publicly…she’s irresponsible to allow dat.”
Another commenter, EmmyJames, advised people to choose faithful partners carefully. “The truth about the society is, once this guy asks for forgiveness, the society forgets and we say he has repent and we shouldn’t judge him anymore. I plead with everyone, marry a faithful partner, don’t let someone destroy your home,” the user wrote.
Sultan idi _Amin also criticised the singer, saying, “Soul way no pity person wife
… Block d woman number don’t AV anyfin to do wth d idiot. Dat when we can forgive u.”
PIJES expressed sympathy for Chike but questioned his alleged involvement with a married woman. “I just dey pity you bro…you go knack person wife. Single girls plenty for lagos you choose married woman,” the user commented.
Another user, @Sure5_odd, suggested the singer needed self-reflection, writing, “Chike might be under a spell. Cause it’s awkward for a fast rising artist like him to be obsessed And attached to married women. He needs to check himself.”
Lexjay added, “Men like Chike don’t Change. He might even be on another Woman right now.”
Some users, however, defended the singer and argued that many critics were being hypocritical. KALU wrote, “Allow Chike to rest, many men are doing same as we speak. Moreover it is the woman that allowed it.”
Francisca also appealed for calm, saying, “Make una leave make him rest.”
Another commenter, Zico, pointed to the pressures celebrities face online. “Celebrity life nor really easy o, cos most of you dragging Chike dey do the same thing too

Others reacted humorously to the singer’s emotional message. @its_aur3x1 joked, “Moral of the story ‘Don’t FRANK your wife, cause there are many CHIKEs out there’.”
Meanwhile, Danny1_ noted that Chike’s post had sparked fresh curiosity online. “Chike just posted ‘Pity my soul!’ Fans don start wondering what’s going on again
