INSECURITY: Troops Neutralize 1,937 Terrorists, Arrest 2,782 By Nigeria Armed Forces

No fewer than 1,937 terrorists have been eliminated by the Nigeria Military in ongoing counter terrorism and counter insurgency operations across the country, reports page3news.com.ng

The troops also arrested over 2,782 suspected terrorists during its operations that span from July – September, 2024.

Major General Edward Buba, Director Defence Media Operations, while briefing Defence correspondents Thursday in Abuja said the armed forces prioritized the killing of terrorists’ leadership and destruction of terrorists’ network in its ongoing counter terrorism and counter insurgency operations across the country.

“Accordingly, troops are effectively attacking the terrorists’ leaders, commanders, combatants, as well as their rank and file operatives, Major General Edward Buba said.

“All through the stretch of the third quarter of the year, troops conducted synchronized bombardments by the air force and ground forces that significantly diminished terror military capabilities and cohesion.

Troops offensive actions culminated in the neutralization of over 65 notable terrorists’ leaders, commanders and combatants across all theatres of operations. Significant terrorists’ leaders were eliminated from the battlefield. These include: Munzir Arika, Sani Dilla (Dan Hausawan Jubillaram), Ameer Modu, Matawal Bitrus, Thomas Benedict, Mohammed Sani, Rimamy (aka Omo), Terkimbi Injoko, Jacob Uzege, Ibn Kasir, Kachalla Ɗan Baleri, Kachallah Halilu Jimmare (Buzu), Kachalla Dan Ali Garin Fadama, Kachalla Dan Mani Na Inna, Kachalla Basiru Zakarriya and Ofem Emmanuel Igwe among others. As I speak, all these terrorists that I’ve mentioned and some others are no more, they’ve been taken”, he said.

General Buba was deadpan when he said that troops are effectively attacking the terrorist leaders, commanders, combatants, as well as their rank and file operatives.

Giving the breakdown of weapons recovered from the enemies for the period, the Director Defence Media Operations said, troops recovered 1,304 weapons, 43,347 ammunitions including 688 AK47 rifles, 32,945 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo, 9,677 rounds of 7.62mm NATO, 191 assorted arms and 8,292 assorted ammo.
