Alex Ekubo’s Wife Breaks Silence With Emotional Tribute

A touching message from the wife of late Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo has been shared after his burial, leaving fans and loved ones emotional.

In the tribute included in the funeral programme, Anwuli described the actor as someone very special to her and the person who brought happiness into her life. She remembered their relationship, the private moments they shared, and the love they built together.

The actor, who passed away at 40 after battling cancer, was laid to rest with family members, friends, colleagues and fans paying their final respects.

In her tribute, Anwuli called Alex “Dadaa”, a special name that reflected the closeness they had. She also recalled the names he used for her, including “Pookstar,” “Asa IKUKU” and “Nwa,” saying they became symbols of the bond they shared.

She explained that Alex supported her during one of the hardest periods of her life — the loss of her mother. According to her, his presence helped her survive the painful time.

“When my mother passed a year ago, you were my anchor. You held me together during a season where everything felt heavy. Your love gave me the strength to keep putting one foot in front of the other.”

Anwuli also revealed that the late actor often showed his love through handwritten notes he left around their home. She said the messages reminded her daily of how much she meant to him.

“Little messages from my Dadaa to his Nwa. Sometimes sweet, sometimes just a simple reminder that I was loved.”

She admitted that she still finds herself wanting to reach out to him before remembering that he is no longer around.

Beyond their love story, she described their marriage as one built on faith. She said they prayed together, believed in God’s promises and faced life’s challenges as partners.

The grieving wife added that Alex’s kindness and care touched many people, saying his impact would continue through the memories he left behind.

She ended her tribute with emotional words, writing: “You’re my Dadaa. You will always be my favourite human being. Forever your Nwa.”
