Osimhen’s €75m Move Completed After Final Payment

Galatasaray S.K. have now fully paid the entire €75 million transfer fee for Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen, officially closing their financial agreement with SSC Napoli and completing one of the most expensive deals in Turkish football history.

The Istanbul Club has paid the last instalment of €17.5 million, which finishes the payment plan that was agreed when Osimhen’s permanent transfer was completed in July 2025. At the start of the deal, Galatasaray paid €40 million upfront, while the remaining €35 million was divided into two equal parts of €17.5 million each.

The final payment was not originally expected to be settled this early, as it was scheduled to be completed before the end of 2026. However, reports from Turkish journalist Ali Naci Küçük indicate that the Club’s early payment has now cleared all outstanding debt linked to the striker.

He explained that this situation now places Galatasaray in a stronger financial position ahead of the next transfer window since there are no remaining obligations connected to Osimhen’s signing.

The total deal remains the most expensive signing in Turkish football history, surpassing Fenerbahce’s €20 million move for Youssef En-Nesyri from Sevilla FC.

The agreement with SSC Napoli also included future conditions. The Italian Club will receive 10 per cent of any profit if Osimhen is sold again later. It also contains a rule that prevents Galatasaray from selling him to any Serie A Club before 2027 unless they pay a heavy penalty.

This special condition, reportedly pushed by Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis, means Galatasaray would have to pay double the original transfer fee if Osimhen is sold to a rival Club in Italy before the agreed period ends.

Osimhen’s time at Napoli became strained after the 2022/23 season, even though he played a major role in helping the club win their first Serie A title in 33 years. He finished that season as the top scorer with 26 goals.

He later signed a new contract in December 2023 that made him the highest-paid player at the Club. However, tensions grew again during the 2023/24 season, especially after Napoli rejected a reported $170 million offer from Al-Ahli FC.

The Nigerian forward then moved to Galatasaray on loan for the 2024/25 season, where he performed strongly, scoring 37 goals and providing eight assists in all competitions. It became one of the best individual seasons in the Club’s recent history.

His performances convinced Galatasaray to pursue a permanent transfer. After long talks over payment structure and financial guarantees, the deal was finally completed in July 2025.

He signed a four-year contract reportedly worth €15 million net per season, with additional bonuses and image-rights payments included.

In his first full season as a permanent player, Osimhen continued to perform well, scoring 22 goals and making eight assists in 33 matches. His efforts helped Galatasaray win a fourth straight Süper Lig title and also reach the UEFA Champions League round of 16.

Even though the transfer has been fully settled, speculation about his future continues. Top European clubs including Real Madrid CFChelsea FCArsenal FC and FC Bayern Munich are still reportedly interested in signing him.
