An Anambra based woman recently caught in a viral intimate video with a married man has spoken out, revealing years of domestic abuse and separation from her husband before the affair began.
A married woman from Anambra State has spoken out after a private video of her and another man went viral online. The video, which shows the woman and a man in an intimate moment, caused a lot of controversy.
In an interview, the woman explained that the relationship started after she had been separated from her husband for years due to domestic abuse.
She said the video was made years ago as a memory, but it was secretly found and shared by her daughter with her estranged husband. The woman said, “Since I got married to my ex-husband, I had never had rest in his house. It was beating, bullying and molestation all through.”
According to her, her children and family knew about the abuse she faced. “My brothers and sisters, and my children, including my daughter who shared the video with her father, are all aware of my sufferings under him as my husband,” she said. She added that her husband often beat her and forced her out of the home. “Sometimes, when I ran to my father’s house, he would come there to molest me; if I ran to a friend’s house, he would come there to beat me up.”
The woman said the man in the video helped her during one of these difficult times. “One of those days when my husband threw me out of his house, it was this very man in question who took care of me,” she explained. She called her new partner “the love of my life” and said she found happiness with him, unlike in her marriage. She also challenged critics, asking, “As they’re abusing me for having affairs outside my marriage, did my husband complain to anybody that he has ever seen me with another man since I got married to him? Since we separated, has he not been having affairs with other women?”
She shared how the video was discovered, saying she thought she had deleted it from her phone, but a copy remained hidden in a file. She said, “I travelled to spend time with one of my daughters, who recently put to bed. While travelling, I left the phone with another daughter staying with me, because the phone was broken and needed to be repaired. She repaired the phone in my absence and started using it. It was in the course of using the phone that she saw the video in one of the files.”
The woman expressed her surprise that her daughter did not talk to her directly but instead sent the video to her father. She wondered what her daughter hoped to gain by doing so.
She also described how her relationship with the man in the video began. “One of those torture days, when my ex-husband beat me until I was unconscious of my surroundings, it was this man who picked me up and took me to the hospital, where I was revived,” she said. “I never knew this man from Adam. After taking me to the hospital and paying my bills, he left when I was still unconscious of my surroundings.” She added that he later came to her shop to check on her and that she found him very kind.
Regarding why they made the intimate video, the woman said it was because they did not live together, and they wanted to keep a memory of their time together.
A family counselor commented on the case, noting that the story shows serious problems with trust and communication in the family. She said, “Looking at the context, there’s been stress on the relationship that would make the woman cheat and lack of trust that would make the daughter think of exposing the mother.” She warned that cheating and exposing private matters only make things worse and advised the family to seek counseling and spiritual support to rebuild trust.
Efforts to contact the woman’s estranged husband were unsuccessful, and she said she no longer has his contact information.
