Under Pressure GTBank Releases CCTV Footage Of Verydarkman’s Arrest

GTBank has shared CCTV footage showing social media critic Verydarkman exiting their branch just moments before his arrest, amid accusations of irregularities with a bank account.

GTBank has released CCTV footage showing the moments leading up to the arrest of social media critic, Verydarkman, outside their Bank.

The footage, shared by the Bank, captures Verydarkman leaving the premises shortly before his detention on May 1, 2025.

The video reveals his departure from the Bank’s building and his walk towards the parking lot, but it does not show the actual moment of his arrest. This omission suggests that the arrest took place in an area not covered by the Bank’s security cameras.

Verydarkman, whose real name is Martins Vincent Otse, had been at the GTBank branch with his mother earlier that day. The activist posted a video accusing the Bank of unauthorized deductions from his mother’s account. Shortly after, he was apprehended by law enforcement, leading to widespread speculation about the circumstances surrounding his arrest.

The CCTV footage shared by GTBank has sparked reactions online, with many questioning the involvement of the Bank in the arrest. Critics have accused the Bank of cooperating with the authorities to detain Verydarkman, citing the timing and circumstances of the arrest.

Verydarkman’s lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, has since confirmed that his client was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and has been detained. His supporters continue to demand answers and call for his immediate release.
