Foremost Abuja-based Sports journalist, Micheal Obasi has been nominated in the Football Journalist of the year Radio Category at this year’s Edition of Nigeria Pitch Award.
Obasi, who recently got appointed as the Media Aide to the Director General of the National Sports Commission, Hon. Bukola Olopade, was nominated alongside Chuma Nnoli (NIGERIA INFO FM), Olawale Adigun (MAINLAND FM) and Anthony Bekederemo (BRILA FM).
Obasi hails from Abia State and has a wealth of experience as a Radio Broadcast journalist for over 15 years with various awards including the FCT SWAN Best Sports Journalist of the Year.
Speaking of the nomination, the talented journalist said “it is an honour to be recognized among various Sports journalists in the Radio category of the 2024 Awards which for me shows the reward of work “.
“This nomination will only propel me to do more especially in my current role working in the office of the Director General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Hon. Bukola Olopade”.
“I want to thank the organizers and especially the voters for selecting me amongst many sports journalists in the country, and I see it as a big honour”.
Other nominees announced at the Pitch Awards Press Conference held on Thursday in Lagos include; Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, Victor Boniface, Niyi Busari and Kunle Solaja amongst others in various categories.
